Jan. 1st 20213 min read

A clean environment is a healthy place. Even more so during this pandemic, everything has to be sanitized and disinfected, keeping your tools clean should be as much of a priority as keeping your space clean. Here’s how you can keep your eyelash extension tools sterilized.

Make sure to allot at least 20 minutes in between clients. This time should be used to properly disinfect your eyelash extension tools. Always make sure to thoroughly wash your hands with antibacterial soap for at least 20 seconds before following the next 3 steps!

STEP 1: HOW TO DISINFECT LASH TWEEZERS

Use soap to remove dirt or possible leftover glue from the previous session. There are many ways you can scrub the debris from the tweezers:

1. Your hands

2. A small cleaning brush with thick bristles

3. A small makeup sponge

4. Lash spoolie

STEP 2: USING BARBICIDE FOR LASH TWEEZERS

When selecting your chemical, always make sure that the local state requirements allow it in your area.

Barbicide is a concentrate, so you’ll have to mix a new batch daily. Follow the instructions closely. As for the ratio, a quarter cup of Barbicide concentrate should be mixed with 4 cups of cold water. Adjust the amount depending on the container that you have.

Upon making the Barbicide solution, here’s what you should do if you use an eyelash tweezer disinfectant tray:

1. Place all the tweezers side-by-side in the tray without bundling them up.

2. Pour your mixed Barbicide solution into the tray.

3. Close the lid and let it soak for 10 minutes.

4. After 10 minutes, rinse under flowing tap water.

5. Thoroughly dry with a clean paper towel.

PRO TIP: Don’t forget to also disinfect the lash tweezer protective covers! Use isopropyl alcohol to soak the protective covers for a few minutes. Rinse with tap water, making sure that the inside is completely free of isopropyl alcohol. Dry off the protective covers with a clean paper towel.

STEP 3: STORE IT PROPERLY WITH AN EYELASH TWEEZER STAND

Use an eyelash tweezer stand(click to ) to keep your tweezers upright and properly spaced from one another. Not only does this keep them organized, it can also prevent your tweezers from scratching one another.

Disinfecting your eyelash tweezers(click to ) are only one of the many things you should do to keep your tools clean.
